Festive performances shine bright this Christmas!
This holiday season, our school community was treated to a series of spectacular Christmas performances, with each year group bringing their own energy, creativity, and festive spirit to the stage.
Early Years
The youngest members of our school charmed everyone with their delightful performance of ‘Wriggly Nativity’. Full of lively songs, colourful costumes, and plenty of festive fun, the play was a wonderful celebration of the Nativity story, told with energy and enthusiasm. Angels twinkled across the stage, stars shone brightly, cheerful innkeepers welcomed visitors, playful animals frolicked, and the kings paraded with majestic camels. At the heart of it all, Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus captured the spirit of Christmas perfectly.
The children performed with great confidence, remembering their lines and singing beautifully, proving that even the littlest members of the school can deliver a big performance. Smiles, laughter, and festive cheer filled every scene, reflecting the effort and care invested in every song, costume, and detail.
Early Years Teacher Abbie Starnes said: "The children’s excitement and pride in performing was infectious. They remembered their lines, sang beautifully, and brought so much fun and magic to the Nativity story."
Assistant Principal Helen Rushworth added: "Our youngest pupils were absolutely fantastic. Their confidence, energy and joy shone through every song and line. It was a wonderful start to the festive season!"

Year 1 and 2
Key Stage 1 delighted their audience with a wonderfully festive performance of ‘The Grinch’. The children sang familiar favourites, including Jingle Bells, Starry Night, and You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch, bringing each song to life with their own creative actions.
Our pupils worked incredibly hard to learn and perform their lines, retelling this Christmas classic with enthusiasm and confidence. Their effort and joy brought the story to life, spreading plenty of Christmas cheer.

Year 3 and 4
Year 3 and 4 took to the stage with ‘Groovin’ the Nativity’, a performance that showcased their dedication and enthusiasm. After weeks of hard work in rehearsal, the children’s confidence and energy shone through, making for a sensational show that left audiences impressed and entertained.

Year 5 and 6
Our senior pupils entertained audiences with a modern and imaginative retelling of the Nativity story, bursting with humour, creativity, and festive spirit. Mary was a very modern character, eager to catch up on I’m a Celebrity and Strictly Come Dancing, while an over-the-top Angel Gabriel stole scenes with dramatic flair, even FaceTiming the Three Kings. The innkeepers ran an Airbnb, adding hilarious twists, and the Three Kings brought baby Jesus an iPhone, a £20 Asda voucher, and a Big Mac, much to the audience’s amusement.
Classic elements, including a mischievous donkey and playful sheep, added further comedy, with perfectly timed brays and bleats that often stole the scene. Throughout, the children performed with confidence, enthusiasm, and excellent teamwork, creating a joyful and memorable production.
Year 6 Teacher Jacqui Dale said: "Watching the children perform with such enthusiasm, especially their dance and comic timing, was a real joy. They put their hearts into every scene and made the story unforgettable for everyone."

Principal Rebecca Scott commented: "This year’s Christmas performances were truly delightful across the whole school. From the youngest pupils in Early Years to our talented Year 5 and 6 performers, every child brought creativity, energy, and joy to the stage.
It was wonderful to see their confidence, teamwork, and festive spirit shine through in each production. I am so proud of all our pupils and the staff who supported them in making this Christmas season so special."
